Marcia Kidder Desilets Bio:

Marcia Kidder Desilets is a resident of Sterling, MA. Growing up in a ministerial family, her family was very involved in church music. She studied piano from an early age and eventually added violin as her primary instrument. In high school, she was introduced to a year of organ lessons and this experience opened up a door to her later interest in organ. During her teens she was concert mistress of the New England Youth Ensemble and toured with the orchestra. She also sang alto in several touring school choirs. Marcia eventually received a Bachelor of Music Degree in violin performance from New England Conservatory. She became licensed in several levels of the Suzuki pedagogy and started a Suzuki string program at the Atlantic Union College. During this time she raised three children who play and sing professionally throughout the region. She briefly studied organ with William Ness as well as playing on an AGO recital a few years ago. After many years of teaching in several area music schools, namely Thayer Conservatory of Music Prep School and Joy of Music in Worcester, she now enjoys a home studio where she teaches violin, viola and piano.
