To the new  H.A.L.F. Time (Hale, After School, Learning and Fun) Program! This program is designed to meet the needs of our 4th and 5th grade students and will reside in the Hale School Home Economics Room. This program will offer unique opportunities that are geared toward 4th and 5th grade students. Please refer to this page for updates and information concerning the H.A.L.F. Time Program.

OnTheMark's 'learn by playing' philosophy enables student to enjoy the excitement of shooting while practicing skills and fundamental aspects of the shot process embedded into the course. The class has four sessions.

Carnival Mask.pngTHEATER FUNDAMENTALS OPEN!
This class will teach the fundamentals of acting and to encourage self confidence, a spirit of generous teamwork, and a true sense of purpose and appreciation for the goodness and beauty of the performing arts. Each week the young actors and actresses will have the opportunity to explore a variety of theatrical elements and techniques. They will learn the basics of acting in front of an audience, e.g. articulation, projection, and self-expression through the art of acting. Participants will learn what it means to see the world through another’s eyes!

This class will allow students to explore science through various hands on science experiments. The first session participants will create their very own Kaleidoscope!

Cartoon Orchestra Leader.png STOW MUSIC PROGRAM - TRIMESTER ONE IS OPEN!                      Music lessons for band, chorus and general music will be offered this year to all interested elementary, middle and high school students. Music lessons will be held at Hale Middle School from September to June for Stow students in grades 4 - 8. We will offer three trimester sessions. The first trimester lessons will begin October 2, 2017. Registration for the first trimester will close September 28th.

The trimester dates are listed below:
Trimester 1 : October 2nd - December 21st
Trimester 2:  January 3rd - March 30th
Trimester 3:  April 2nd - June 15th

The cost of each lesson is $33/half hour per student once a week and parents/guardians will be billed once per trimester. The billing dates are as follows: October 1, 2017, January 1, 2018 and February 1, 2018. Parents/guardians will be billed for a minimum of 10 lessons per trimester, but students are encouraged to take more if their schedule permits.

All payments will be made via MySchoolbucks and parents will be billed for the first trimester 10 lessons the first week after each registration closes. Payments must be made in full and received by the above deadlines in order for your student to continue their lessons.

Once registered, the instructors will be in contacted  to set up dates and times for lessons. If your child is absent from school and therefore misses a lesson, they will be able to schedule a make-up lesson with the instructor. However, if your child is in school and does not attend his/her lesson, parents will still be billed for that lesson. CHESS WIZARDS AFTERNOON PROGRAM OPEN!

Chess Wizards believe strongly that education should be fun and exciting. Since their first classes in 2002, the Chess Wizards have inspired thousands of children across the United States and Canada to think logically, solve problems, win graciously, and learn from defeat. Their academy is so successful because their approach is so unique. Classes and lessons are based around our original, fun, and high-energy Chess Wizards curriculum. Regardless of a child’s ability Chess Wizards makes chess fun for all! This class has ten sessions.

Mr. Sorgman is an accomplished architect from California where he was one of the most sought after architects in the Santa Barbara area. He is also a skilled guitar player who would like to share his diversified talents with our students. Every Tuesday Mr. Sorgman will work with small groups of students drawing and teaching basic guitar. The class is free and open to all Extended Learning Program interested students, there is a 12 student limit per class. We have four loaner guitars for students that would like to take home a guitar to practice. Students may borrow a guitar for one month at a time with the option to extend this time. Please see Ms. Dorcas for information about a loaner guitar. Dates: Every Tuesday Time: 3:30 - 4:30 Grades: 3 - 5 Cost: Free Class Size: Limit to 12 per class
